Rail bill to be announced in U.S. House

The National Association of Railroad Passengers indicates that House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee chairman Oberstar and Railroads Subcommittee chair Brown will hold a press conference to announce an Amtrak reauthorization bill.

This is the long-awaited companion measure to S. 294, the Senate Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act.   The full Senate has twice approved the language by large bipartisan margins.  The first time both Oklahoma Senators Coburn and Inhofe supported it.  The second time they both opposed it.

The event is expected to webcast live at 2 pm, Thursday, May 8th.
